Snow College was established in 1888 as Sanpete Stake Academy. The school was renamed Snow Academy in honor of Lorenzo Snow and Erastus Snow. (Lorenzo was the fifth president of the LDS Church and Erastus was a member of the Quorum of 12).
The school was renamed Snow College in 1923. It transferred from church control to state control in 1931.
The school currently has an enrollment of 4,100 and is home of Snow Badgers athletics.
