True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days
The True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days (TLC) is a fundamentalist splinter group of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints headquartered in the Red Brick Building in Manti.
TLC was started in 1994 by the prophet James Harmston and others who felt that the Prophet Brigham Young had committed apostasy by watering down church doctrines. He was even more upset with the Modern LDS Church which had changed some of the Temple ceremonies.
The TLC Church restored the principle of plural marriage. The group was interested in the end of the world prophecies of the LDS Church. Quite famously, Harmston revealed that Jesus Christ would come to Manti in late 1999 or 2000 at which time he would smite gentiles and apostates.
To those of us who are not members of the fold, it appears that the world still exists; However, it is possible that the world did end and that Jesus created a fold in space and time to that makes it appear to of us with feeble minds that the world still exists.
